MapSamurai Documentation

Version 1.2.7 Last updated: January 15, 2026

MapSamurai is an extremely powerful mapping plugin for WordPress, and that means it has a LOT of features. In this documentation we'll cover every one of them, as well as the steps needed to get your maps live in minutes.

Version: 1.2.7

Getting Started

The first step is to of course ensure you've purchased a copy of MapSamurai, and downloaded it from your account area. You'll of course purchase MapSamurai here. Once purchased, you'll receive an email to download the files, or you can download it directly from your downloads tab in your account area. Pretty basic stuff!

Installation

Like all plugins, you'll upload the plugin's ZIP file via Plugins > Add New in your WordPress admin panel. After it has been uploaded, click the "activate" button and you're ready to roll.

Note that some browsers will unzip the plugin zip file after it has been downloaded, so you'll need to re-zip that same file before uploading it to your WordPress site.

Activating Your MapSamurai License

When you purchased MapSamurai, a unique license code was automatically sent to you via the email you used to purchase your copy of the software. Here are the steps to properly activate MapSamurai:

    • In WP-admin, navigate to Tools > MapSamurai License
    • On that page, enter your license key, and click the "Activate License" button

That's it! Once activated, you'll then see "MapSamurai" appear as an entry in your wp-admin sidebar. Your'e all set to start building your first map!
